ALPHA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF OKLAHOMA

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2021, the Alpha Community Foundation of Oklahoma (ACF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering communities across the state. ACF focuses on historically underserved neighborhoods—especially in Northeast Oklahoma City—to improve health outcomes, expand educational opportunities, promote civic engagement, and provide direct support to those in need.

At the heart of ACF’s mission is the Garden Oaks Community Center, located in Northeast Oklahoma City. Once a vacant public school, it has been transformed into a vibrant, 27,000-square-foot facility on 10 acres. More than $2 million has been raised to support the renovation, which officially opened in summer 2024. In early 2025, ACF welcomed its founding Executive Director to lead operations and shape the center’s future.

An expansion is set for completion in early 2026, adding 12,000 square feet of new space. The addition will include a medical suite for mobile health services, adult education classrooms, a game room, conference rooms, and flexible gathering areas. This expansion will double the center’s capacity and allow ACF to reach even more families, seniors, and youth.

ACF’s work is grounded in four core pillars:

Education

ACF supports lifelong learning. Youth benefit from Whiz Kids tutoring, Alpha Boys Institute mentoring, summer STEM camps, dance, and creative arts programming through NTU Arts. Students access technology and digital literacy training through a partnership with Compudopt. Adults prepare for GED exams and job entry with support from It’s My Community Initiative. Financial literacy workshops, homebuyer education, and investment classes help build long-term financial stability.

Health and Wellness

For years, the neighborhood lacked access to basic health resources. ACF is addressing that gap. Weekly Senior Social Club sessions keep older adults active and connected. In partnership with the Lynn Institute, the Road to Health initiative offers free health screenings, chronic disease education, nutrition classes, and wellness support. The new medical suite will further expand access to care.

Civic Engagement

ACF believes in the power of community participation. The center hosts civic forums, town halls, voter registration drives, and debate watch parties—bringing residents together with elected officials and community leaders. Garden Oaks has become a trusted place where local voices are heard and real change can take root.

Community Service

Service is central to ACF’s identity. In 2025 alone, the foundation hosted a Trunk or Treat celebration, distributed 500 Thanksgiving turkeys, led a holiday toy drive, and partnered with Oklahoma City Public Schools on a summer breakfast program for youth. The center also welcomes the community for birthdays, reunions, retreats, and meetings—serving more than 3,500 visitors last year.

ACF is guided by a volunteer board, supported by donors, and driven by collaboration. As the organization continues to grow, its focus remains clear: building a healthier, more connected, and more equitable future—starting in Northeast Oklahoma City.
